Ahahahahah! For real! I hate that stupid “true story” meme. If the story is truly and I mean TRULY rad then True Story it!
But if your meme is “Woke up on wrong side of bed. Noticed spider on floor. Looked away and disappeared. Spent whole night freaked out TRUE STORY!” That is IN NO WAY WORTHY OF THAT! IT HAPPENS TO A LOT OF PEOPLE!!!
The best “True Story” meme I read was a person who had their gender changed to male from female and was afraid of being judged by this big redneck, but the guy was really open and tolerant and awesome. THAT is worthy, not everyday BS.
Remember when memes were kind of like the Internets inside jokes?
They popped up on message boards and forums and had the occasional archive site and all that. It was something funny to look at when you were bored.
Now memes are everywhere! I see them all the time on almost every site. I feel like memes have gone too mainstream and thats a bad thing. Yeah, I realize I sound like an internet hipster (I mean, this is tumblr) but memes were totally inside jokes and now that everyone knows about them and uses them all the time they’re practically meaningless.
Like I see stupid high school girls reposting rage comics or philosi-raptor and I’m just like “Do you even get what that is?” I see “U mad” and “TROLOLOLOLOLOLO” all over YouTube and stuff like “That akward moment when etc” or “Forgot to rollup my windows of my car in the rain *facepalm*” I know some of those were kind of general but you get my point.
Also memes seem to come and go more. Like that “ERMAHGERD” meme. Came out one day, was kinda funny. Now its been a few months and its dead. Now that “Dear girls. Did you know that um…” meme has been out for a little while. It and its variants were amusing for a while, but now its on its last life. People are getting annoyed with seeing it and death will soon follow.

Its like I’ve grown tired of these jokes and the whole internet culture. I wish I could just get some sort of filter to censor all the mindnumbing repetitive memes.
But whatever. Thats my rant. Full of holes and redundancy? Maybe, I just don’t care.
This meme really needs to die already.
